Sorry Rich - one forgets just how long ago some of these things happened. Mr Woodbury was/is a multi-faceted entrepreneurial er... dreamer is the kindest word based in Esssex whose 'business interests' ranged from an eBay shop to re-opening Portsmouth Cherbourg. Amonst other claims were a multi-vehicle luxury coach fleet. Threads here, here and here will bring you up to speed.

The most worrying thing - and the reason that nobody should bother to waste their money on Hampshire based local papers - is that he was invariably taken at face value when a little digging by BFE members showed that it was all likely to be, well, unlikely.

A quick search on google for Aquaitaine Media Group will turn up a few sites he's forgotten to take down, no surprise as there were so many, and searching on aquitaine.org.uk in the internet archive will proabaly bring up more.

But to do Mr W justice behind all the bravado he did put on some productions, run a few coach trips, operate a ferry booking agency, as well as giving us all a bit of fun at his expense. He never threatened anybody with legal action and I have no doubt that had he been able to convince anybody to charter him a ferry it would have made at least one, proabaly ramshackle, crossing before the band started playing. It that respect he differs from some...
