i dont know if any one agrees with me but how does everyone feel if we should proce a Membership card? i dunno it sounds stupid but what if someone comes up with one and a link so we can print one out?
then each of us can have one tomake us feel more of a group or community?
i dunno its just an idea.... [flash=200,200][/flash]

I think, the idea in general is good, I mean here every sports-club like the swimming-club I belong to, has a membership card, even you can´t get any benefits from this.
But, I think if you want to have something like this for the BFE group, there is one important thing what must come along with this, too and this is, at least ONE annual meetings of members, of which most of them should be able to come. I know, that here every now and then a few gather together and do a trip together, but I would say, it would be a nice idea if there are 2 occasions per year, where there is a general meeting of members. Best would be, of course not just in some pub but a weekend on one of the BF´s nice ferries, so it is an attraction for those a bit further away, too.
For example it would have been a good idea for the Pont Aven´s maiden voyage, some have been but not so, that it was organized so, that all could join.. perhaps the moderators could ask the members here, first about an idea when and where do a meeting and then, they could work out something at the BF office whether there are group-fares, such things would go as conference-travels usually.
Good idea, or rather not ?

Yes, I think the organisation is the thing. Although I was almost successful by organizing a DFDS class trip many years ago, very good offers IF there was over 20 people. Class had 26 people.. oh well and those cowards got scared they go seasick when they heard something of severe weather situations on North Sea. As those were all some deep-continental Bavarians, I thought the one organizing a BF community trip won´t face such difficulties
The signature pic ? It´s the Pride of Bilbao beating itself through the waves successfully as always and arriving on time in Portsmouth - as always :P Impressive pic, liked it as well been onboard last October & liked it.

Oh well, don´t worry when I was 12, there hasn´t been any possibility to interact like this (internet) with people who are far away, like nowadays, and the first chance to travel after all was when I was 14 on a trip to London what included a Zeebrugge-Dover ferry trip (not best memories) and next trip, when I was 18 and could travel on my own as my parents were never travelling anywhere

But, there are also many members on that forum who´d be able to travel alone, and I think, it would be helping the "community spirit" if there are trips organized, asked for group-fares etc twice a year or so, or when the interest is big enough.
I think sometimes there has been a rather "hard" discussion here on that forum, too and bit lack of a community-feeling and if there would be some occasions where members could meet, it would make that better, too.
I am talking of experience here, as I been to some meetings of the P&O forum, and it´s been absolutely great !!
Any opinioms of you others about that?

But its not like I've never been on a ferry before!!
I don't think I could count how many times I've been on the Val - 15 times maybe!
I've been here on this board since July (the old board aswell) & since then I have been on the Val twice, the Pride of Kent & the Pride of Canterbury!
