Morning.
Last time I was on her was in 20 metre high waves.
I'm pleased to report she coped extremely well!
Crew have now been in rough sea and the Captain now knows how his ship copes with the bad conditions.
Any journey on the Pont-Aven, no matter what the weather is like is always an excellent experience.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your crossing on her,
Dan.

That sounds good, seems the ones who built the ship have been using their brains and designed an excellent seakeeper from what I have heard - and not some thing like the previous ship on the route, what I have heard of, that it just provokes seasickness.

The Quiberon was a good seakeeper even in Force 9 winds!

The Val seemed to move alot even on relatively calm seas....or is it just me? I could always feel movement. Quibby I found great in gales, and the Duc is mighty fine too. I have never been on a calm sea aboard the Barfleur yet have never suffered' on one trip we were told not to leave our seats as we were leaving Cherbourg harbour- I have never known that before!! Good luck cleaning staff, sure the Pont is fine....

Always found the Barf to be good in rough weather, but she has the least amount of superstructure of the large ships in the fleet, and so is not so prone to the wind causing additional movement. The Val de 'Block of Flats' Loire, is not so lucky. When she did cover Santander, even in rough weather the Barf kept excellent time, though do recall taking the paperwork up to the captain and seeing him picking his Tv up off the floor after a Biscay adventure !

I think the designers should have been using their brains and count in winds and wave when designing that "Brittany Brickstone" although it was not built for Brittany Ferries, heard just bad about the seakeeping of that thing.
Though, I am courious what people are telling about the Pont´s seakeeping and also, I am looking forward once to do a trip from St. Malo and didn´t hear yet bad about the Bretagne either

The weather was also bad in the Bay of Biscay on Wednesday night/Thursday morning and espically Thursday afternoon/evening. Crockery in the Le Flora restaurant slding off the tables, large waves crashing over the front of the ship, ship juddering from side to side, the up and down motion of bow and stern and the reverberation of the stabilizers! :-\
