"Wearing of Cherbourg" what´s that ??
OK, there are some words what I really don´t understand in that travel report.

I would also be more interested in some details like what did you learn from Jean Baptiste. You mention details, but not give any info, and it would be of course more interesting and exciting to read than every exact time you did what and whom you have to thank for.

Of that very interesting info about the port you got, please let us all know, too !
That motorboat you used for the port, was that an regular excursion boat or did you have to rent that ?
Have there been also many other enthusiasts ?

Translators again...!

It's taking the french word "port" meaning to wear, rather than "port" as in harbour.

WTF I don´t understand what "to wear" has to do with a port, ok I just know that i better wear my jeans before going to port But after all this don´t make a sense to me. Those damn translators !!!! > OK makes me angry & thought we agreed not to use them.

Two versions - good idea. I think it must have been edited since because port= wearing has disappeared ;D I would like to know too what you found out about Cherbourg and more of the details. Seems very interesting potentially!.

In the spirit of this thread.. alot of thanks to whoever has corrected the travel-report And about automatic-translators, I just have to tell now, my good old 300 pages German-English dictionary did not yet give me mis-information ! A total put-off is the modern technology in comparison to that.

Interesting would be especially, what you learned at the tour you got from J. Baptiste in the harbour-station.

Yes Yann, I arrived very early on Pride of Cherbourg at 0530 French Time! Myself and Jim did think about staying to see Queen Mary 2, but we were worried that we may get caught in traffic and then not make it to Ouisterham in time to travel on Caen Express back to Portsmouth. Also, I had already seen QM2 as she set sail for her maiden voyage from Southampton.
