Click the image to open in full size.

Picture is taken by me from the sundeck of Baltic Kristina.

The Stockholm archipelago, M/S Cinderella II is on her way out to Sandhamn in the outer archipelago.
She and her sister Cinderella I is owned by Cindarella Båtarna (Cinderella Boats) a part of the Strömma Group.
She is waterjet driven and has a max. speed of 24 knots , her sister even 30 knots . They have got a 3. sister, Adler Express sailing on the german westcoast for Adler Schiffe. There are some italian near sisters too.

I remember very well, many years ago that there is one island in the archipelago what has some ancient stuff from the Vikings and I wanted to visit there and the trip would have cost over 30 Euros - just out of the archipelago !! I was very annoyed as, my trip from Tallinn AND back by Estline cost almost same > This is also what I told the one at the counter, that with that money I can as well go Tallinn-Stockholm and back !! What a rip-off...

Yes, Birka that was. Would have been interesting, though.

I could spend days in Stockholm and the archipelago
watching the ferries, cruiseships and the small passengerships. And of course the surroundings.

A homepage about archipelagos in Schweden and elsewhere. http://www.archipelago.nu

I haven´t found yet good places to spend in the archipelago and perhaps not knowing the right ferries but there´s great to go to Stockholm-Helsinki and half of the trip is going through the archipelago ! Great view and also other ferries coming alone. Best place to stay in Stockholm is IMO Gustaf af Klint youth hostel what is located on an old research-ship.
