Default Pont Aven loading in Plymouth

Pont Aven loading in Plymouth15:17 and she is just leaving (to judge by the horn just now). Traffic through Plymouth was a nightmare this lunchtime, and at nearly 14:00 ex - holiday UK cars and visitors were still heading away through the city

Is it unloading / loading diffculties, traffic within the port or was she late in from Spain today?

there may be many reasons you havent considered....

1. the sailing times to roscoff can be altered at any time due to tidal conditions just as it can be at st malo, e.g 3/9/04 (bfe trip) the 17.00 roscoff - plymouth sailing is now scheduled for 17.15

2. naval activity around plymouth can affect marine traffic on the sailing i went on last time she was delayed and held outside the plymouth area for an hour because of naval ctivity she berthed at 08.00 instead of 07.00

She was late today, I joined the exit queue way back from the customs shed, but got out through the Devonport "rat run". I have posted on the Pont Aven board. Traffic coming into Millbay was stacked up out to the entry roundabout, and from the Pont, it took about 25 minutes to get out after getting on to dry land. (I was coming out of the car park as foot PAX)

PS - very low neap tides at the moment - but should not have affected her berthing?

Were you on board? perhaps she was late leaving Santander? If it's neap tides here is it not the same for the whole of the northern hemisphere (or was my geography a level that long ago?)

the tide could have affected it, remember she has to put her bow very near to those rocks around the corner from milbay in order to thrust herself around and into the docks

I heard that she was late leaving Santander for some reason or other - hence her later arrival today.
She was reportedly full to the brim both coming into Plymouth and departing for Roscoff - hence the traffic chaos!

Look out for me then - I'll be the english idiot trying to drive the french 3.5T hire van on board. Shortly after I'll be stuffing myself with Breakfast in the main restaurant. I might have my 19 year old son with me - and hopefully a cat.

I'm coming over tomorrow on the 3pm Cherbourg to Portsmouth on my beloved Bretagne ! My mouth is watering at the thought of the Bretagne Buffet already.
