traveling with dogs on the pont aven

Has any one traveled on the pont aven with dogs to santander and back.I have had conflicting reports about the conditions and noise on the kennel deck.I have been thinking about doing the crossing this year but I am a little bit worried as my dog has not traveled aboard a ferry in a kennel before.

I have to say taking your dog on a long journey is surely only to be recommended as a last option...though I come from a family where members worry about leaving the dogs for even a short time!
