Hello all from a newbie!
My wife & I are recent 'returnees' to BF (after 15+ years of holiday destinations that involved flying)) and our first trip back with BF was last September, Plymouth to Santander with several hotels from BF's holidays in the Picos area. And what a pleasure it was to dispense with all the hassle of flying and to return to enjoyable travel! With the exception of the Immigration queue on our return to Plymouth we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the trip and especially so the facilities on the PA (our last trip had been on the Bretagne!).Now, if I may a question please: I've been browsing around the forum looking for an answer but to no avail.......... We are traveling back from Santander on 15 April 2009 and our booking shows the PA 's departure as 21:00hrs. Given that normally there are two sittings for dinner (18:30 and 20:30 I think) does anyone know if there will only be one sitting on our journey? Many thanks in advance and I must say what a pleasant bunch you all appear to be! If history repeats itself, BF will probably contact you by email or phone nearer to the departure date and ask if you would like to make a table reservation in the restaurant.
They did that for my 2 Santander trips last year. (Breaks) Welcome to the Forum. |

Yes, they contacted me before our trip last year. But I'm keen to find out if they are even having a sitting on the return journey as we are meeting friends in Santander on the day of departure and will need to factor in a meal ashore if there is no restaurant service on sailing.

When we travelled back from Santander in November on the Pont Aven, we did not sail till around 1900, so reservations were unavailable for the main restaurant. People wishing to eat in the main restaurant, had to que outsied the restaurant before they opened and hope for the best.

We have found that if you have a Commodore cabin the staff ask if you want to reserve a table when you check in at the reception desk on deck 8, though I must admit that we never did Commodore when we had a young family based on the cost. The buffet is the best food and best value anywhere on a ferry, and the children might wonder how the piano plays itself whrn the painist leave - or probably not in this tecno aware age. Have a great trip on our favourite ferry
