Does anyone know what the exchange rate from Sterling to Euro onboard at the moment? When i last travelled they were using £1 = €1.45. If they are still using this it would be more worth my while getting Sterling before i board

All I can tell you is that out of Dover, P&O were offering €1.03 to the £ onboard on Sunday. In the port desks it was €0.97 to the £.
What the BF rate is currently I do not know. |

Ah yes, BF's onboard pricing...Uusally it works out more expensive when you pay in Euro, don't get me started on why they charge us in Sterling in the first place... It's the one thing about BF that really annoys me...

Always presumed more sterling based traffic and that they made more from it.
As regards Shark paying in sterling, buy some in your local credit union/bank and use it onboard. Have a good trip! |

The on-board rate as of today (Armorique) was 1.176471 euros to the pound, which means things are around 13% dearer if you pay by euros as opopsed to sterling.
At Plymouth BF desk on Tuesday night the rate was 1.04 euros to the pound. Dont forget that POC members get an extra 2 points, so I got 1.06. Two weeks ago it was 1.07 (1.09).

See if you can do a private deal with a UK guy at the port or onboard you could trade at a mid point between the BF buy/sell rate to your mutual benefit.
