Default Ouistreham linkspan

Apart from being a home to what appears to be a thriving seabird colony, is the original single level linkspan used for any vessels?

Not on a day to day basis. MSM and Normandie both need the double-deck berth. DDN , Quiberon, Normandie Shipper and occasionally the Coutances used to use the single deck, as did P&O's Caen Express - however as none of these are around anymore...

Does Normandie Express use it, or does that use the double deck berth too?

NEX did use it for one crossing I was on a couple of years ago, but recently it's all been fenced off and looks ripe for demolition.

I daresay in that case it's because the other berth was in use!

Apologies for late response - yes you are right Jim. I am hugely impressed at your forensic powers of deduction. The flag is, of course, on the stern of the MSM. I seem to remember that there was a fishermen's blockade at Cherbourg at the time.
